Laurel is a Chrome browser extension owned and operated by Cakelore, Inc. (“Cakelore,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). Laurel helps shoppers see—directly on Amazon product pages—whether an item’s listed fabric is primarily natural or synthetic.

2. What Laurel does not collect

Laurel is purposely designed to run entirely on your device. We do not:

• collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information (PII)
• track browsing history, clicks, keystrokes, or shopping behavior
• read or copy cookies, passwords, or payment details
• use analytics SDKs, third-party scripts, or remote logging

Because no data ever leaves your browser, Laurel is effectively “data-silent.”

3. How Laurel works (local processing)

1. When you click Laurel’s button, the extension opens a hidden background tab for the specific Amazon page you requested.
2. Laurel’s content script reads the publicly visible HTML on that page (e.g., the “Fabric Type” field).
